1st Day: Canada- San José

Ready to discover the vibrant landscapes and abundant natural treasures of Costa Rica? Arrive at your Canadian departure airport to board a flight to San José.

Land in the capital of Costa Rica and transfer to your hotel. Overnight stay in San José.

2nd Day: San José - Arenal

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, you begin your advenure heading to the verdant region of the immense Arenal Volcano, the perfect place to get in touch with nature! Once you arrive, relax at your leisure, enjoying the facilities of the hotel or exploring the local town.

In the afternoon, set off on a guided hike of the Arenal Volcano. Learn about the abundant flora, wildlife and the history of this region on-route. Follow the ancient lava trails and look out for toucans, monkeys and tropical birds. After an introduction to the natural beauty of Costa Rica, return to the hotel and enjoy the evening at your leisure. Alternatively, we recommend an optional visit to the local hot springs, just right after a hike!* Overnight stay in Arenal. 

*Optional Paradise Hot Springs Experience ($): Discover the natural hot springs of Arenal and immerse yourself in their warm, healing waters! Enjoy entrance to the Paradise Hot Springs complex, home to a variety of pools nestled in tranquil natural surroundings. Dinner at the hot springs is also included.

Guided Hike to the Arenal Volcano
Take a guided hiking excursion to the Mirador el Silencio to discover the abundant landscapes of the incredible Arenal Volcano! Discover the rich flora and fauna of the rainforest and learn about one of Costa Rica's most iconic natural wonders.

3rd Day: Arenal

Breakfast at the hotel. This morning, set off on an exciting excursion on the tranquil Peñas Blancas River, floating on inflatable rafts. Relax as float along, led by a bilingual naturalist guide and safari adventure expert. He will provide a safe environment and point out the beautiful flora and fauna of this region. Look out for an array of local wildlife, including hundreds of tropical birds.

For an added adventure, we recommend joining our optional activities: a chance to meet sloths* or an unforgettable guided night walk** in La Fortuna. Overnight stay in Arenal.

*Optional sloth observation excursion ($): Get to know these beloved slow-moving animals, icons of Costa Rica. Head to the aptly named 'Lazy Territory', a small eco-project, home to a population of sloths. Follow the trails and spot both two-toed and three-toed sloths resting in the treetops.

**Optional guided night walk ($): Hike through the Cerro Chato Biological Corridor in La Fortuna, covering around 800 metres. Observe nocturnal wildlife such as frogs, insects, and reptiles in their natural habitats. Along the way, an expert guide will share insights into the behaviour of these fascinating species. And cap off the experience with a refreshing drink.

Peñas Blancas River Adventure
Even though you will be seated most of the time, you may be required to walk short distances or climb some steps. Set off on an exciting river safari in an inflatable raft along the quiet Rio Peñas Blancas. Accompanied by an expert naturalist guide, travel through the abundant waterways, teeming with colourful flora and fauna!

4th Day: Arenal

Breakfast at the hotel. Free day to enjoy the tranquility of this beautiful natural environment, explore at your own pace or relax in the abundant hot springs. We recommend a thrilling hike to the La Fortuna Waterfall* or a hanging bridges excursion** to get to know the abundant rainforest of Arenal. Overnight stay in Arenal.

* Optional La Fortuna Waterfall ($): This guided adventure will give you the opportunity to spot exotic birds, get to know the local flora, and encounter endless natural beauty as you hike toward the crystal pool of the La Fortuna waterfall. Don't forget your bathing suit! 

** Optional Hanging Bridges ($): Admire the beauty of the forest and the backdrop of the Arenal Volcano and gain valuable insight into the native plant and animal species from your expert guide. Return to the hotel and enjoy an afternoon at your leisure, exploring at your own pace or relaxing in the abundant hot springs. Overnight stay in Arenal.

5th Day: Arenal - Jacó

Breakfast at the hotel. Early this morning, leave the jungle behind, and set off toward Jaco Beach. Well known for its surfing, beaches, incredible sunsets, and nightlife, this beautiful spot on the Central Pacific Coast awaits. Arrive at your all-inclusive hotel, and spend the rest of your day at leisure, exploring the surroundings and making use of the facilities. We recommend an exciting optional horseback riding excursion* or an optional canopy adventure**. Overnight stay in Jaco Beach.

* Optional Half-day horseback riding ($): Begin from Herradura, where you’ll be equipped with horse riding gear. Head off towards beautiful pools and waterfalls, passing farms as you ascend into the rainforest. Look out for toucans, scarlet Macaws and Cariblanco Monkeys. On arrival, enjoy fresh fruit as you relax by the waterfalls and the natural slide.

* Optional Half-day canopy zip-line adventure ($): Exciting activity in a spectacular property with 80 acres of land. Spot scarlet macaws, nut-jawed toucans and white-faced monkeys in the forest that’s part of the property. Begin your adventure on a 40 passenger tractor! Once you reach the top of the mountain, the descent to the bottom commences! Travel along through a series of zip lines, including 15 platforms and 14 cables at a total distance of 2.5 miles including the longest cable in the area at 2400 feet!

6th Day: Jacó

All-included at the hotel. Enjoy another day at your own leisure today, relaxing by the beach, or trying one of the many water sports on offer. We recommend our optional excursion to the Manuel Antonio National Park*. Overnight stay in Jaco Beach.

* Optional Excursion to Manuel Antonio National Park ($): Embark on an exciting excursion into the Manuel Antonio National Park. Explore pristine natural beauty while looking out for exotic wildlife such as monkeys, sloths, birds, reptiles and butterflies. Enjoy a picturesque hike to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, surrounded by lush rainforest, where you can enjoy a swim in its crystal clear waters.

7th Day: Jacó - San José

All-inclusive at the hotel. It’s time to bid farewell to Jaco beach. This morning, take a transfer back to the capital to spend your last night in San José. Why not make the most of your last evening, and enjoy our optional San José VIP bus tour*. Overnight stay in San José.

* Optional VIP San José City Tour (including dinner) ($): Visit the most prominent sights of the city such as the National Theater, the Art Museum, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the charming Central Market, among other places. Traditional dinner included.

8th Day: San José - Canada

Breakfast at the hotel. Sadly, it's time to bid farewell to Costa Rica as you take a shared shuttle transfer to San Jose airport and catch a flight back to Canada. Arrive in Canada and end your trip.
