Itinerary

1st Day: Canada - Santo Domingo

Ready to uncover the vibrant culture and idyllic landscapes of the Dominican Republic? Pack your bags and head to the airport to catch a flight to Santo Domingo. On arrival in the Dominican capital, meet your transfer and travel to your hotel** in the heart of the old town. The remainder of the day is free to explore this historic city at your own pace. As the first colonial city in the Americas, Santo Domingo is filled with well-preserved architecture, beautiful plazas and atmospheric cobblestone streets. Overnight stay in Santo Domingo.

2nd Day: Santo Domingo - Jarabacoa

Breakfast at the hotel. Begin the day with a fascinating guided tour of Santo Domingo's Colonial Zone. See the capital's most important colonial-era buildings and atmospheric streets and enjoy entrance to three monuments: the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Museo del Ambar and the impressive Alcázar de Colón. After immersing yourself in the history of Santo Domingo, stop for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, transfer from the hotel to Jarabacoa. Nestled in the mountainous interior of the island, Jarabacoa is a hub for outdoor activities such as river rafting, trekking and mountain biking. Surrounded by lush pine forests and waterfalls, it's the perfect place to get in touch with the natural beauty of the Dominican Republic!   Even though you will be seated most of the time, you may be required to walk short distances or climb some steps.

3rd Day: Jarabacoa

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend today at your leisure, exploring the verdant landscapes of this region or take the opportunity to do optional activities* such as a biking excursion to the Baiguate Waterfall! Overnight stay in Jarabacoa.

* Optional Baiguate Waterfall Biking Excursion: Immerse yourself in the untouched landscapes of the highlands on a bike excursion to the 25-meter high Baiguate waterfall. Soak up the tranquil scenery and pass through traditional Dominican towns along the way before arriving at the waterfall.

4th Day: Jarabacoa - Cabarete

Breakfast at the hotel. The morning is at your leisure to enjoy the abundant nature of this region for the final time before departing to Cabarete in the afternoon. Situated on the northern coast, Cabarete is a resort town known for its beautiful coral reef and calm, crystal clear shores. Get settled at the hotel and spend the evening exploring at your own pace. Why not take a stroll along the waterfront, stopping for a drink at one of the beach bars or local restaurants? Overnight stay in Cabarete. 

5th Day: Cabarete

Breakfast at the hotel. A day at your leisure on the sun-kissed shores of Cabarete. Head to the beach, take a dip in the sea or try out some of the watersports on offer here. Alternatively, we recommend an optional excursion to the beautiful Damajagua waterfalls or a city tour of Puerto Plata.* Overnight stay in Cabarete.

* Optional Damajagua Waterfalls Excursion: Discover the incredible Damajagua waterfall complex of 27 waterfalls on a guided hike. Venture through the tropical forest of the "Cordillera Central" before reaching the waterfalls, where you can explore the 27 lagoons, bathe in their waters and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of your surroundings! 

* Optional Puerto Plata City Tour: This guided city tour takes you from Puerto Plata's popular beachfront boulevard to the top of Mount Isabel, where you'll find the Botanical Gardens, the iconic statue of Christ, and the most impressive views of this 'city of Amber'.

6th Day: Cabarete - Las Terrenas

Breakfast at the hotel. Spend a relaxing morning at your leisure before departing to Las Terrenas in the afternoon. Nestled on the Samana Peninsula and overlooking the beautiful Scottish Bay, this charming town offers beautiful stretches of golden coastline. Get settled at your hotel and begin to enjoy the facilities and surrounding beaches. Overnight stay in Las Terrenas.

7th Day: Las Terrenas

Breakfast at the hotel. Awake in beautiful Las Terrenas and enjoy an entire day to relax at your leisure. Perhaps spend the day at the beach or head to the spa to indulge in a massage! To discover the abundant nature and cultural heritage of this region, we recommend an optional excursion to the Los Haïtises National Park.* Overnight stay in Las Terrenas.

* Optional Excursions to Los Haïtises National Park: Explore Los Haïtises National Park, once the home of the indigenous Taino community. Visit three historic caves, home to original cave art, and explore two areas of mangrove to discover the endemic wildlife such as bird colonies, pelicans, buzzards and other exotic fauna! Stop at the beach for refreshments and an included lunch before returning to Samana.

8th Day: Las Terrenas - Samana Peninsula

Breakfast at the hotel. At the indicated time transfer by road to your hotel in Samana Peninsula, on the opposite coast of the Samana Pensinula, to begin your blissful stay on an All-Inclusive basis. Overlooking the beautiful Samana bay, this charming town offers an abundance of sun, sea and sand and is known for its colorful houses. It's also the site of the annual humpback whale migration! Get settled at your hotel and begin to enjoy the facilities and surrounding beaches. Pure tropical bliss awaits! Overnight stay in Samana.

9th Day: Samana Peninsula

All-Inclusive. Awake to the tropical shores and sun-kissed beaches of Samana and enjoy an entire day to relax at your leisure. Get accustomed to the slower pace of life and unwind after your journey through the Dominican Republic. Perhaps spend the day at the beach or opt for an excursion to the beautiful beaches of Fronton and Playa Rincon!* Overnight stay in Samana.

* Optional Excursion to Playa Rincon: Discover the hidden treasures of the Dominican Republic as you visit 3 unspoilt beaches, among the most beautiful in the world! Depart Las Galeras in a small boat to visit the natural beaches of Fronton accessible only by sea. Spend some time snorkelling or lounging on the shore before enjoying an included BBQ lunch on the beach and whiling away the afternoon swimming in the crystal-clear waters and taking in the idyllic desert-island scenery!

10th Day: Samana Peninsula

All-Inclusive. Another day in paradise awaits! Enjoy a day at your leisure to indulge in your hotel's excellent facilities or explore the charms of Santa Bárbara de Samaná town at your own pace. Why not take a stroll through the colorful streets or pay a visit to the fascinating Whale Museum? For the more adventurous, we recommend an optional Zip-Lining Safari excursion.* Overnight stay in Samana.

* Optional Zip-Line Safari Excursion: Get picked up in a safari vehicle and learn more about the local culture with your guide as you travel to base camp. From here, enjoy an unforgettable zip-lining experience through the treetops as you travel across 12 lines. 11th Day: Samana Peninsula - Santo Domingo - Canada

Breakfast at the hotel. Sadly, it's time to bring your time in the beautiful Dominican Republic to an end. At the indicated time, transfer to Santo Domingo airport to catch a flight back to Canada. Arrive in Canada and end your trip.
