Itinerary

Please note that this is a sample itinerary and is subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather or unexpected closures.

Day 1: Arrive in Yellowknife

• Fly to Yellowknife Airport. A complimentary hotel shuttle will bring you to your accommodations

• Check into the hotel in Yellowknife and pick up your winter clothing at the front desk

• Depart the hotel in the evening and enjoy dinner at a local restaurant (included)

• Transfer back to your accommodations to get some rest before tonight’s Aurora Tour

• Let’s go chase the Northern Lights! Go on your first Aurora Hunting Tour of the trip. Rather than waiting in one place to view the lights, your guide will take you to wherever they are supposed to be strongest that night. Pick-up and drop off from the hotel are included. Return at approximately 1:30 am (tour times could vary depending on weather conditions)

Day 2: Northwest Territories

• Have breakfast at leisure or choose to sleep in

• Meet your guide at the hotel lobby and depart for a 2-hour Sightseeing City Tour of Yellowknife

• After the tour, return to the hotel and enjoy free time for lunch. Explore some of the town’s great restaurants (own expense)

• In the afternoon, meet your guide again and depart for a 2-hour Indigenous Storytelling Tour. You will visit The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre with an introduction to the Indigenous Peoples of the North*

• Enjoy dinner at a local restaurant in the evening (included)

• Arrive back at your hotel to rest and embark on another Aurora Hunting Tour at night

Day 3: Northwest Territories

• Sleep in or have breakfast on your own

• Meet your guide at the hotel lobby and depart for a 2-hour Traditional Dog Sledding Tour

• Return to the hotel and have lunch at leisure

• Enjoy free time in the afternoon to relax at your accommodation, explore the town and go shopping, or join some optional day tours (additional cost)

• Dinner is included this evening

• Get some rest and then enjoy another Aurora Hunting Tour tonight

Day 4: Northwest Territories (5-day option only)

• Have breakfast at leisure and enjoy your morning to book optional day tours (additional cost)

• Free time for lunch on your own

• In the afternoon, meet your guide at the hotel lobby and depart for a 2-hour Indigenous Storytelling Tour. You will visit The Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre with an introduction to the Indigenous Peoples of the North

• Back at your hotel, enjoy time to explore around downtown Yellowknife, do some shopping, and try some of the town’s great restaurants for dinner (own expense)

• Get some rest before going on your last Aurora Hunting Tour of the trip tonight
